Hans Davidsson Hans is an independent Board Director and Senior Advisor primarily focused on early stage ventures. Recent experience include the opportunity to co-found and participate in the development of European based ICT-Auction, a global electronic marketplace for idle and excess IT and telecom infrastructure equipment targeting Telecom Operators and ISPs, and 2Thumbs Entertainment, a US based leader in the fast-paced mobile media business. Furthermore Mr. Davidsson participated, as a Board Director, in the development of Shanghai based AsiaCorp Communications, Inc., a communications company founded by Pacific Millennium in China.
Hans’s past experience includes Managing Partner of ideaEDGE Ventures, a California–based, seed investment and venture development group. At ideaEDGE, Davidsson had the opportunity to create, fund and manage operations of start-up companies in the mobile Internet space, e.g. M7 Networks (acquired by Motricity, Inc.) and Satyam ideaEDGE Technologies, an India based provider of professional services with focus on wireless internet (later incorporated in to Satyam Computer Services Ltd., NYSE:SAY).
Prior to joining IdeaEdge Ventures, Davidsson served as Vice President of Ericsson Inc., where he founded Ericsson Wireless Internet, a global organization headquartered in the US and charged with the task of defining and building new businesses in the intersection of wireless and computing. Brightpod is one example of an effort that was spun out from the group and later acquired by InPhonics (NASDAQ:INPC).
Throughout his career at Ericsson Telecom AB, Davidsson served in several Vice President/General Management positions, based in Sweden, UK and the US. In the Consumer Division (now Sony Ericsson) he was the Vice President for Sales and Marketing of all new products to the Americas. Prior to that he had the responsibility to direct the global R&D organization for the company. In the Network Infrastructure Division, he served as the General Manager for the global Access Products unit, consolidating a multi-billion dollar business group.
Hans serves on several Boards of Directors and Advisory Boards around the world. He is also an active board member of the Swedish American Chamber of Commerce.
He has a Master of Science combined with a Business Management degree from the University of Linköping Institute of Technology in Sweden.
